Reverts Reconnect is a community and program of the Muslim American Society of New York (MAS NY) that welcomes and supports new Muslims (“reverts”) across New York City. We offer classes, mentorship, gatherings, a New Muslim Kit, and resources in both English and Spanish.
Anyone new to Islam or exploring it, whether you just took your shahada, reverted years ago, or are simply curious. Born Muslims are welcome too; we learn side by side.
Becoming a Muslim is simple. If you sincerely believe there is no god but Allah (God) and that Muhammad is His final messenger, you declare the shahada: “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.” Reverts Reconnect can guide you through it and walk with you afterward.
Reverts Reconnect welcomes people across NYC to take their shahada with our community. Reach out through our Let’s Connect form and we’ll help you take your first steps and connect you with ongoing support.
Fill out the Let’s Connect form and we’ll get you into our classes, gatherings, and community group. We hold daily Qur’an reading, weekly classes for brothers and sisters, monthly gatherings, mentorship, and da’wah training.
Yes. We hold classes in Spanish, maintain a Spanish-speaking Reverts Reconnect community, and offer resources en español. Nuestra comunidad da la bienvenida a los hispanohablantes.
